the client wanted an owl with a limited color scheme. i usually have them standing on a branch or skull or similarly creepy perch, but ive been trying to draw lots of filigree and engraving stuff lately so we had this lil guy resting on some of that.

Both the client and I thought that the chest area was too boring so we added the keyhole at the last minute. I think it adds a lot to the piece and the negative space is pretty striking.
