I was trying to get a scrimshaw type look to this piece and good shop buddy Flop ( http://flopcustom.com/ ) was down to make it happen. There is a famous woodcut of a similar scene but i wanted to make this one unique for Flop so I redrew the ship from real reference and drew a jason octopus (you can tell by the spikes around the eyes lol)
